Life This is the wallflower, off to himself, the kid who left school to join the Navy. I was in the Navy for 4 years disliking the service but I loved the ocean and the ships that go down to the sea. Within six months of joining the Navy I started a rock band and have been rockin' ever since. While in the Navy, I started an underground newspaper based in Norfolk, Virginia with lots of ties to Old Dominion College. What better way to learn about college and the cultural revolution! Boy did I learn! In the later 60's I started playing in coffee houses until I got out of the Navy in '69. I drove my 1950 Plymouth pulling a trailer with my Triumph 650 bike and my music equipment, to Miserablesota where my parents lived at the time.. I hadn't been out of the Navy for 2 month when I got hit head-on by some sun blinded 18 year old girl in a Rambler station wagon....nearly killed me and I almost lost my leg. I survived, but was delayed in starting college at U of Minnesota, Morris Branch for a few month while I recovered from the accident. In college I met my blond hair wife Alycia from Glenwood Minnesota and we were married in June of 1970. We continued college while at the same time I was also playing in bands as a bass player. I moved to Minneapolis to the main campus for continued studies and to play in bands in the city. During that time I played with a regionally popular band called Freight and later with a national group called the Drifters.
