rsity Student Forum and working in the community with resource fairs and youth events. My civic engagement at Martin University resulted in an opportunity for me to participate in the Making Connections Indianapolis leadership training. After the training, I started as an intern and later became an employee for two years. During my employment at Making Connections Indianapolis, I helped organize a large Safe Summer Youth Fun Fest each year. I also was able to connect and network with organizations in the Martindale Brightwood and Southeast areas of Indianapolis.
Currently, as the new Near West Coordinator, my mission will be to provide youth and adult leadership training, create opportunities for all five neighborhoods, and encourage residents and youth to become civically engaged. I will focus my efforts on empowering residents to implement the Near West plan, along with tackling issues that residents deem priorities in their community.
As a hobby, I ride motorcycles and a part of a club called W.O.E. MC Club (Women of Excellence) we are women who believes in independence and self-empowerment.
