work involved. I work per diem also know as casual work up in Canada, Trust me I get plenty of hours in this clinic. I get a good hourly wage considering it is a clinic. work hours are typically 8-5 M-F. Prior to that I worked for a company called QSTAFF a placement agency, I took contracts working in various hospitals around the Houston and surrounding communities. I have worked as a charge nurse in General surgery, Telemetry and pedriatric floors. I enjoyed my time with the company, working in different hospitals was also very challanging, I enjoyed because I was contracted to work and if I did not like the hospital environment all I had to do was call up the company and say hey Rick move to another Hospital. however it never came to that. The pay was fantastic, but the hours sucked. straight nights or evenings no time for a social life. I enjoy the company I work for now except for the boss, eekkkk. she is terrible.. hahaha we need a new boss....The current company I worked for had place me at the Nasa Johnson Space Center for 4 months, which I got to work with the astrounauts. It was great! On my last day at Nasa I was given a party and I was presented with gifts, one of the most treasured gift i recieved was a picture of the space shuttle columbia taking off with the signitures of co-workers and astrounauts. I was also touched to find out that one of the astrounauts wrote a story about me, stating how I was his favorite nurse always greeting people and co-working with a goodmorning and a smile. Nursing is a rewarding career, you just nbever know who you will meet.
