Patricia's Story
Life
Some day, when I don't work all the tiem, I will put more time into keeping up with people. I still work as a high school English teacher in Umatilla, FL, which is in the middle of nowhere Florida. I have one son, who is living in NC with his fiance. He has a decent job, but will start his masters in public policy admin in the spring. I raised a raging tree hugging liberal. How did that happen. He also does stand up comedy. His fiance is at the top of her class in law school. I, who never wanted kids must admit that he is the light of my life. I remarried and have 2 girls and a boy (stepchildren) that are great kids, but it can be trying to be a step-parent. One is a police dispatcher, one a cop on sabbatical in college in Australia, and one in SC, married to a career Marine.

ould like to retire to TN, sooner would be better than later, but as I started teaching late, who knows. FL is 47th in the nation in teacher pay, and my county is in the bottom third. I have not had a raise in 5 years....that hurst, especially with all the time demands. I am so over it.
I have kicked my body around a bit with horses and kids, so am paying the price with a bad back and all that business, but still keeping active, carefully.
I have corresponded some with Lynn Verona and Cathy Peterson. I also talk to Donna Russell (class of 79 or80?) quite a bit. I have not talked to anyone much since we started e-mailing after the 30th? Sherrie Grant tried to contact me, but I lost a computer at that time and could not get back to her. Carol Packard, who left in our Sophomore (?) year also contacted me. I would love to hear from anyone that would like to write......I am a New Engander out of water down here.
