Patricia's Story
Life
After 1 year of college I worked for Barnett Bank of Jacksonville as an executive secretary in the commercial loan department for 12 years. I married when I was 30 years old and have one son, l4 years old. I divorced in June, 2000 and married my high school sweetheart in June, 2001. We dated for 3 years in high school and came very close to getting married, but somehow let each other slip away. But, we finally made it and I have never been so happy in my life. My husband has always been the love of my life and he feels the same way about me. We both agree that it's wonderful to feel like teenagers again and be so much in love at our age! We are truly soulmates.
School
I loved my high school years. My favorite part of high school was being...Expand for more
a band member and a majorette. We had the best band director in the world (M. C. Thompson) and we were very proud of our band. I also enjoyed being a basketball cheerleader and was lucky enough to be crowned Miss Baker County 1966 in the contest sponsored by our band. My favorite high school teachers were Russell Porterfield (U. S. History), M. C. Thompson (Band) and Ed Jasonek (Math). I had a lot of good friends in school and since my divorce and remarriage I've had a chance to reconnect with some of them and renew friendships. The only thing I would change about school would have been to study harder, be involved in more school activities and never to have dumped my high school sweetheart. We wasted over 30 years when we could have been together.
