Patricia's Story
When I was a senior, I had my oldest daughter and was already married to my High School Sweetheart, James Smith. We had a second daughter together a year later. Unfortunately, after 9 years of marriage, he left me for a younger woman. I graduated from Victor Valley College with my Associate in Science-Business Technologies.
I was single for two years when I met the second man of my dreams at my place of employment in Hesperia. After our first son was born, we decided to move to Vegas. We had a daughter 3 years later and on our 7th wedding anniversary, he cheated on me and left me for another younger and skinnier woman. We divorced five months later and a month later I lost my father.
It has been two and a half years now since my divorce and I recently graduated with my Bachelor in Accounting from the University of Phoenix. My oldest daughter will be 20 in November and my second oldest just turned 18. Both have graduated High School. My oldest is now pregnant with twins and lives in S.C. My 9 year old is in fourth grade and my 6 year old is in first grade.
I am now moving on to obtain my Master's in Accounting and living life at it's fullest. I am ...Expand for more
happier without being tied down and no criticism or control.
The wildest thing I ever did was slept with my High School sweetheart and got pregnant. We were called the lunyville kids because we lived in Lucerne Valley. My brother and I were both considered geeks because we were smart.
I enjoy working out at the gym to relax and blow off steam. My hero in life was my father. He worked hard and provided for his family. He may have never been home, but he also stayed in his marriage until he died. He is the reason I wanted to get a job and not be a stay at home mom. I wanted more for my children the way he always taught us to strive for more.
I used to live in Apple Valley, California, but moved to start a new life with my second husband in Vegas where I lost him to the sin of this city.
I know life hasn't been good to me except for the gift of my children. If I could turn the clock back, there is nothing I would want to change because my kids are my life and give me the drive I need to succeed. They see me as their role model. I have learned that there is no book about what to expect, but in the end the laughs and the trials bring a family closer.
