Patricia's Story
Life is and adventure and I continue to to have my share. After graduation I went to college for a while in Montana, married and moved to Long Island, NY; where we lived for 28 years. My first husband passed away suddenly and with grown kids I became a modern day gypsy.
I moved from New York to Reno, NV maintaining a winter retreat on the island of Bonaire, in the Caribbean
Met my second husband, lived in a motorhome traveling the west for a few years, settled in Deming New Mexico, but found the lack of community hard to deal with; moved to Moab, Utah and loved it. We spent 8 years in Moab , all the time looking for a piece of property to build one more home on.
In 2016 we left Moab and moved to Kingman, AZ to build another house. The house was completed by us in 2019. It was a great house perched on a hillside overlooking Kingman. What we found lacking in Kingman is a pit stop between Las Vegas and Phoenix with lim...Expand for more
ited community activities; a cultural void. By 2022 we had had enough and got the moving fever once again.
We are now settled in Long Beach, WA a mile and a half from the ocean and 30 minutes from Astoria Oregon. How different to be now living with no poisonous snakes or bugs in a green, wet environment with huge pine trees and lots of blackberries., Two weeks after we moved in we were volunteering for the local Rhythm & Blues festival and are happy to be back to aiding and volunteering in the community.
While we have sold the winter retreat in Bonaire but we continue to visit the island and travel the world. Our favorite trip was sailing from Spain to Barbados on a tall sailing ship, the Star Flyer. We have done the crossing twice and will probably go again.
When I am too old to sail the seas or jump on a flight to another country; I will have a thousand memories of trips with family and friends to remember.
