Patricia (Patty)'s Story
Life
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Jim, for 33 years, and we have two adult sons. We moved back to Colorado in 2002 after living on the east coast in Maryland for 8 years, and we chose Monument, CO, because of the great school system for our kids. Jim retired from the Air Force in 1987, went to work for IBM in Boulder, and we lived in Boulder for 6 years. He then transferred to Maryland with Lockheed Martin in 1994, and we lived there until 2002. Jim is a senior director for the Air Force at a local military defense company.
I was a stay at home mom for 12 years and decided I needed to fill my time by helping others, so I received my real estate license when we moved back to Colorado. I'm currently a Broker/Owner for my own real estate company. I enjoy biking, painting, decorating, dining with friends, and hanging out with my family.

Workplace
After graduating HS and going to some college, I spent 12 years working for the government as a civil servant. While I was working at AF Space Command at Peterson AFB, I met and married my husband, Jim, and moved to Boulder. There I worked for NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) as a budget analyst.
In 1994, we were transferred to Gaithersburg, MD, and I did the whole "mom" thing for 12 years...volunteering in the classrooms, the PTA, the church, etc.
We moved back to Colorado in 2002, and I taught yoga and spinning classes at our local gym in Monument for about 1 year. I had to stop teaching due to degenerative disc disease in my neck. I've been a Realtor since 2005, and I feel as if I've finally found the career that brings both me and others so much happiness.
