Life
I got married to Clay Bentson in 1973 and we have two grown children: son Robert, and daughter, Leslie. Our first grandchild, Alanna Lynn, was born on December 16, 2008.
I retired from the City of Gilroy in August 2009. I worked at the City for over 20 years in the Community Development Department, and specifically in the Engineering Division as a Financial Analyst for over nine years. My husband also retired as Batallion Chief in August 2009 from the Gilroy Fire Dept where he was employed for over 28 years.
After spending all my life in Gilroy, in 2006 we sold our house and purchased a home on an acre in the country by Hollister in the Four Corners area out by Dunnville. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel our backyard, add a hot tub, and would redesign the yard. My dream home would be to have my present house located on the coast somewhere.
We became grandparents for the first time on December 16, 2008 when our daughter gave birth to her daughter Alanna Lynn. She is a precious joy and it's my good fortune to get to watch her 2-3 days a week. Our daughter Leslie is a Dental Hygenist and her husband Mike is an Air Traffic Cont...Expand for more
roller. Our son Robert is self-employed, is into music and Texas Hold-Em Poker where he has won several tournaments. Robert was recognized by the Gilroy City Council and Silicon Valley Chapter of the Red Cross for saving the life of a man by dragging him out of a mobile home which had caught fire on New Year's Eve 2010. We are very proud of Robert's heroic actions!
We enjoy traveling, attending 49er and Sharks games. I love going to the movies and Country concerts. Clay still races his '42 Thames. He now has a huge 2400 sf shop, his original 57 Chevy from High School, a 34 Ford kit, and another car for restoration that should take him through his retirement years!
Higher Education
I received my AA from Gavilan College in 2003 alongside my daughter. I received my BS degree with honors in Business from the University of Phoenix at age 52 which was quite an accomplishment.
School
Grace Kawai, Jim Church and Jim Kropff were the teachers that inspired me the most out of my 4 years at Gilroy High. At Gavilan College, my favorite instructors were George Hinn, Richard Young, and Jason Wolowitz.
People
The two people from my past who I'd most like to see again are Steve Blankenship, Gary Cooper, Denise Maas, because they have never come to any of the reunions and we use to be friends in high school.. Also Art Moos who graduated in 1971. We lost touch after he moved to Washington state.
