Patricia's Story
Life
Following my graduation from Capital University in 1966, I taught music in the Tiffin public schools. I also sold antiques and owned and operated an antique furniture refinishing business.
In 1988 I moved to San Diego, California where I worked as a substitute schoolteacher and also did retail sales. My husband Eric (whom I met in college in 1966) worked as an informational video producer for the U.S. Government and also as a professional musician.
In 1994, we bought a cabin (dating from 1934) in Descanso, a small mountain/western community located about 44 miles east of San Diego on the southern border of Cuyamaca State Park. For the next 10 years, most of our spare time was spent building two major additions to the original cabin. (Since we did most of th...Expand for more
e work ourselves, I gained a lot of practical, Âhands on experience in basic carpentry, dry walling, floor tiling, mixing and pouring concrete, and decorative painting.)
Since 2005 we have been semi-retired. My husband has a home music and sound project studio from which he works, producing soundtracks for commercial video releases. Now that the house additions are finished, IÂve had more time to spend with my hobbies and special interests, which include beading & jewelry making, gardening & yard work, and buying and selling collectibles on eBay. Most recently, we have been taking advantage of the cruise ships that sail in and out of San Diego, and have taken cruises to Hawaii and Mexico.
I have two grown children and two grandchildren living in Ohio.
