School
My fondest memories of St Michaels were the times I spent with the drama club. I really loved it. Mary Young and I would compete against other schools with our dramatic interpretations. Actually that was with the Forensics Club with was an offshoot of the Drama Club. I won a 1st place trophy for the school with my "Little Moon of Alban".
I remember the best baloney on rye sandwiches you could buy in the lunch room cafeteria.
I remember the gym with it's shiny waxed wooden floor. We held the Friday night dances there which I went to on occasion. One time we had John...Expand for more
ny Mathis performing there. I remember watching him from the mezzanine and thinking he had to be high on something. He was hanging onto the microphone like it was the only thing that kept him from keeling over. His definately looked out of it.
Let's see there was Miss Seigert and Miss Schuba who taught gym. And I remember Sr. Rosaria very well. She was my favorite. No, no it wasn't Rosaria who was my favorite, although I did like her. Sr. Geraldine was my sweetheart. She really took her time with me in getting that algebra through my head. Believe me that took some doing.
