How the years have etched and defined who I was born to be. Lots of trial and errors that eventually turned to triumph and wisdom. I have still much to experience and learn as a wife, mom, grandmom, daughter, sibling and friend. My greatest accomplishments are my discovering who I really am, my marriage, my children and theirs and my realization that having a relationship with the Lord was the basis of it all. I discovered a new way of life that washed away the pain of my past and all my failures. Then I did not know who I was and I allowed others opinion to influence my identity. Today I am strengthened in who God called me to be and I am still a work in progress. No longer is anyones opinion of me to be my reality. I believe a lot of us struggled in our teen years and even early adulthood in finding the right direction. I do not think my life was really any different than most....we all made mistakes, some more than others. I can admit that I was a slow learner. Thank God I finally figured it out after some dramatic life events had me do some deep soul searching. I at 37 left my childhood name behind and embraced my real name Patricia. I endured much critisim and ridicule for my choice. It was one of the two the biggest fights I ever fought but the one that brought out the true me hidden deep inside. Imagine my God given name, the thing that was rightfully mine others tried to take from me. It was a part of a journey that helped strengthen my character and I no longer was a victim but a victor in my life and over circumstances.
