Patricia's Story
Hi there!
If you are reading this, something about me from high school must have jogged your memory and caused you to click on my name. I am amazed that in all the years I have been away from high school, other than my time at OSU and at school reunions I have only a few times run into someone from that time. And high school was a time when I thought that relationships would go on forever. However, it has certainly not been true for me. No regrets really, (well maybe regrets), just wonder sometimes where all the Hale friends went. "Poogies" (a group of good friends) where are you?
After graduation from Hale I went to OSU for two years, then transferred to Oklahoma City University where I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. I was working at Honeywell as a secretary and was living in northwest OKC when I found out about a job in Yukon as a first grade teacher. I was hired and loved teaching. I married my husband, Larry in 1974 and we lived in OKC until 1996. This year we will celebrate 35 wonderful years together. We raised one son and had many special friends and family members in Okla City. I didn't work most of those years, but I was involved in many volunteer activities.
When we moved to Tulsa I worked with my husband for a few years and since then I've been a housewife. We have a house at Grand Lake and spend long weekends there. My parents are both living and I am a caregiver to them. They live in a ...Expand for more
retirement community and do not drive so I'm available to them as much as possible and I love it. It is fun checking in on them and their friends and having meals in the dining room. They come to the lake several times a year and we love spending time on the back deck looking at the lake and sometimes wildlife if we are lucky.
We have one son who is not married and no granchildren. My only sister did not have kids, so our family is small, but we are still very close. I do hope to be blessed one day with several grandkids. I would really love spoiling them. For the moment I lavish that attention on two golden retrievers. Daily walks are a must! My husband and I also work out with a physical trainer, who keeps us hopping.
In our house, we love our family, friends, our dogs, exercise, Grand Lake and boating, travel (especially snow skiing in Colorado), reading anything, tv news, (especially Fox News), talking business, faith and politics, e-mail, google and I'm sure other things that will come to me later.
Life is good and I enjoy the journey. It is always interesting, isn't it?

04-16-2012 UPDATE
I am a grandmother! My son and daughter in love gave us a beautiful baby girl November 17, 2011. Her name is Aurora Snow Bloomer. She was only 5 lbs at birth but has gained steadily. She is 5 months now and smiles or laughs most of the time. Such a happy baby! We are all so blessed!
