Patricia's Story

Life I left Bel-Air High School in 1960 because I ran off and got married to an Ysleta graduate Dennis Taylor. Dennis and I were married for 14 years and had 3 children. After our divorce I moved to San Mateo, Calif. with the children. I worked for Montgomery Wards and then for Howard Johnsons as an auditor. I went to the College of San Mateo for 2 years. In 1979 I married Dean Audiffred of the San Francisco/Woodside Audiffred's. We dated for 5 years and our marriage lasted 6 months because Dean's mother didn't like me because I wasn't from the social register. A year later I met and married Bob Hansen. We were married for 10 years and had 3 children. During this time Bob had his own Appliance business then out of the blue he quit and joined the Navy. In 87 I went to work for Toshiba America/copier and fax division. Bob and I divorced in 90.I was remarried in 91 to a Chief in the Navy, Michael Gracie. We didn't have any children of our own. Mike retired as a Senior Chief 2 years ago, after 27 years of service and we now reside in the San Joquin Valley, Ca. I have 6 children, 2 boys 4 girls and 8 grand children, 12 Cats and 1 Dog. I'm still in touch with my best friend from High School Rose Sobie Fower. We had some good times at Bel-Air. School My school years started at Rusk Elementary, 1st grade. Montecito Elementary, 2nd grade = Rusk again, 3rd Grade- Hacienda Heights, 4th,5th,6th,and 7th. Bel-Air High School, 8th,9th, and 10. I was an average student, I loved Choir,Literature, History, PE.....Didn't like math or science. Wasn't a popular student like D...Expand for more
ianne Mallin, Eloise Formey, Kay Snyder etc...to shy I guess.... The worst thing I ever did in High school was smoke in the bathroom after a batton recitle. Myself and 2 other classmates, who will remain nameless were turned in by Miss Prissy Covington, a fellow majorette. One of the things I wanted most was to get one of the big MUMs with BA on it to wear to a football game. Never got one. So much for High School. College I went to the College of San Mateo in San Mateo Calif. in the spring of 75,Fall of 76-spring of 77, Fall of 77. Workplace I worked at the Court House in Downtown El Paso during Lisence registration in 66' and 67'. In 74'/75' Montgomery Wards. 75'to 80' Howard Johnsons, I have to tell ya,I met some celebrities while I worked there like, Aretha Franklin, Tiny Tim, Benny Goodman all of the San Francisco 49ers including OJ Simpson, their coaches oh and Ricky Nelson. From From Oct.80' to 82'I worked for my then husband Bob at his business. 87'to 90' Toshiba America Inc. In the Copier/Fax Division as an Operations Rep. for Copier/Facimile dealers only. 90' t0 91' Pierce Packaging as a purchasing agent. Toshiba was my favorite job after the Silent propeller scandle they down sized and the San Mateo Branch was closed (that's where I worked)along with 4 other branches in different states. So Much for work. Military Just let me say I had the "Toughest job in the Navy" I was a NAVY WIFE for 18 years. I went through 5 deployments encluding "Desert Storm". A message to all those who have served. You are the Elite of this country.
