Patricia's Story

Life After High School I married the first time and moved to Conn. where my two children (Samantha and Robbie were) born. I worked at a Kmart before the kids and after at a local petstore. WE had a cat, dogs, birds, and fish back then too. I was starting to show my afghan hound Rose at that time. We moved back to the Antelope Valley in the early 80s where I began volunteering and the Feline Conservation Center (worked with big cats such as tigers, lions, cougars, and snow leopards) in Rosamond and did that for about ten years while still showing afghan hounds and doing dog grooming on the side. I also at this time began to study the metaphysical and do psychic readings. I started working for a vet after retiring from the big cat scene and dog show scene. I was also divorced at this time and eventually took on an office job that caused physical injury that in the long run enabled me to go to the local community college to learn a new career (computer graphic design) I always did alot of drawing and painting and after the injury could no longer hold a brush or pencil well enough to continue my art. I was able however to create art using a computer so I look at my injuries as a blessing. During this time my kids grew up and now have families of their own making me a grandma 6 times and a great Grandma of one now! I also in the past 10 yrs found my way back to my Christain roots and way more peace of mind. I current...Expand for more
ly do graphic imaging and web design under Featherwolf Graphic Design (wwwDOTfeatherwolfgraphicdesignDOTcom) and was a snake rancher! I have always liked reptiles and after divorcing my first husband got my first corn snake I had for 19 yrs. After he passed I got more and became interested in all the wonderful color varieties. I began to breed them and was becoming successful and made it a profitable hobby and was respected by my peers and had wonderful customers. It was so much fun to see the eggs hatch wondering what the new babies would look like! I enjoyed making jewelry to sell on Etsy and some local rock shows on occasion. I was remarried (22 yrs ago) but am now divorced having to sell my home as well as saying goodbye to everything I had including my snakes which has been the hardest thing. I have spent the last 2 yrs at my moms helping them out and converting a retired ambulance into a motorhome (nearly finished and hopefully hitting the road soon) to become a nomad as I can do my graphic design and crafts on the road and sell my art and stock images on my Etsy page. I have also begun designing pretty wallpapers for cell phones. Of course visiting friends and family (including my great granddaughter) are part of the adventure. Hope to be hitting the road for parts unknown very soon! Looking forward to the peace and quiet in the wilderness as well as seeing places i never thought I would have a chance to see.
