Patricia's Story
What a ride it's been!
Hard to believe it's been this long...but to date I've led a full and very rewarding life.
I married and had 3 wonderful sons. We lived in the Philadelphia area for 5 years before being transferred to Moraga, California. We lived in the SF Bay area for 10 years. It was like living in a vacation land! They were very good years.
When the boys were 14, 7 and 4 years old we were transferred to the Chicago area - I went kicking and screaming, never having been to Chicago and all I heard was how long and cold the winters were.
Adjusting from living in the San Francisco bay area to cold and windy Chicago wasn't easy - but i did survive. Unfortunately my marriage didn't and after 18 years of marriage we divorced.
I didn't finish college following high school and always regretted it. So, I found a company (Motorola) that offered an education assistance program and went to work full time as an adm...Expand for more
inistrative assistant. It took me five years working full time, going to DePaul University nights and weekends, and raising two sons still at home but it was a great accomplishment for me. I transitioned into human resource work and was very happy.
I'm still in the Chicago area. Two of my sons have settled in New England and I visit there often. Another son is living in the Chicago area.
My enjoyment centers around my family and my love of....motorcycle riding! Yes, I started riding about ten years ago, own two Honda motorcycles, an 1100 Ace Shadow Tourer and a 1500 Valkyrie Interstate. Last year I traveled all over the WY, MT, SD area visiting the Badlands and Yellowstone and Mt. Rushmore. This year I'm headed for the Great Smokey mountains and the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains.
Life has been good to me. The most important things to me have been experiencing the beauty in nature and the love of friends and family.
