Patty's Story
I met my husband in the winter of 1978, at the drugstore I worked at in Brighton and began dating him in February of 1979. I've stayed in this area since graduating, I worked at McPherson Hospital for almost 18 years, relocating to St Joe's in Ann Arbor when the Business Office was centralized. I've since gone on to do other things, I've worked for a Dentist, an Allergist, and Chiropractor, left the health profession and began working for the Brighton School District, and for Metropolitan Title as well. With Michigan's economy the way it is, with no one buying property, no one selling, the little title work being done seems to just be foreclosures; I was layed off like everyone else, and since May of 2007, I have been working as a contractor at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, working on the EDI helpdesk, and training other contractors to do the same.
Anyone who keeps in touch with me knows 'Moose', we got married in 1986, seven years after our first date (almost to the day), and we live in the same house his Father built when Moose was just an infant; we've added on, ...Expand for more
but here we are, and here we'll stay, and we're both quite happy about it. We have three kids, the oldest Mike, being from Moose's first marriage, who has since gone on to marry and become a Father himself, and then Corey and Rachel, both of whom are still home with us, and that's quite alright with me.
We're all silly and goofy, we have two Australian Shepherds that are just as goofy, along with our "self destructive emo" cat.
Our favorite things to do are to hang around home and play in our gardens, whether it's the vegetable gardens or the flower gardens; Moose likes to play with woodworking, I like reading and dancing and mowing the lawn believe it or not, talking of course (ha), and camping with friends and family, the most often being with my twin Mike (everyone remembers Mike) and his family, where we have lots of fun together no matter where we are.
When it's really cold out, we basically hibernate, and that's when we get to relax by the woodstove, read, watch movies, eat popcorn and veg out in our spare time.
All in all, you can't ask for much else, eh? I'm happy.
