Patricia's Story
Hello, everyone!
I was browsing through the BUHS Class of 1985, 20-year reunion, and all I can say is WOW! Everyone looks great! Looks like you had a really great time!
To all my Morse High School classmates, just to refresh your memories, I spent the last three quarters in San Diego my sophomore year. Then I left and returned to BUHS the beginning of my junior year. I appreciate the love you guys have been sending my way! I'm surprised a lot of you still remember me and appreciate your greetings! (and YES, I do remember ALL of you thus far!) :)
I'm in Indiana "hitched" 17+ years to my bubby, Gary. We met - actually, we were set up on a blind date by co-worker at a SD law firm. I now refer to our little matchmaker as my sister-in-law, Tammy.
Gary runs a glass plant in his hometown, which consists of 350+ union employees and I don't know how many office employees. I've filled in for his secretary before and I'll tell you what ... I do not know how he DOES it, but by golly, he DOES it ... and gracefully, I may add! Simply amazes me!
I work as a criminal paralegal and I work with a really cool attorney who THINKS he's actually MY boss!!! hahah Six years of two equally bullheaded individuals results in occasional skirmishes, but ... at the end of the day, we're high-fiving each other! (Yes ... I know, I know ... sick, ain't it?) I love, LOVE, love criminal law. Over the last 20 years, I've been exposed to other areas of law i.e., labor/union defense, maritime law, insurance defense, probate, family law, class action, etc. -- you name it...Expand for more
, but this is BY FAR, my favorite!!!
We have three kids: Paulina's a senior, Steve's a sophomore and Mel's a Freshman. (See "Mom's Brag Book" photos above.) They keep us hoppin'!
I thought I wouldn't like living anywhere else other than California, but, to tell you the truth - it's really not all that bad out here. It was a difficult adjustment at first but I've come to truly love the Midwest -- the change of seasons (fall is my favorite), the White Christmases, the slower pace to raise kids, IU Basketball, the Pacers, and the Colts ... and yes, I still root for the Chargers and Lakers.
Everyone has been, and will be, in my thoughts and heart forever...
Love,
Patty (Palado) Jarrett :)

It brings a longing to my soul
To contemplate my own true self
And keep me young as I grow old
The beauty of the days gone by

So lift your glass and raise it high
To the beauty of the days gone by"
