Patricia's Story
Life
Eric and I live in a log cabin near Soldotna, next to a small lake. Moose are frequent visitors in our yard; bears, less often. Eric refers to moose as mobile munchers, consequently, our apple tree is in a fenced yard, to protect it. We love to watch the loons arrive every spring just after breakup, and all of the other migratory birds. It is quite raucous around our feeders. It's great entertainment. You can tell when Bald Eagles are nearby, the other birds Mob them on their treetop perches. And I keep an eye on our papillon, Peanut. Eri...Expand for more
c expands our raspberry patch each year; and clears spruce & birch trees from the yard, when the whim strikes. The Kenai River runs through town, and tourists arrive every summer to try their luck at catching Ninety pound Salmon. We enjoy the change in atmosphere in town, with the increase of folks around, but we hunt for our fish at Safeway. We feel fortunate to live here, it is such a beautiful area. The scenery changes every day. And now we are looking forward to retirement soon, anticipating having more time to travel and take up new interests.
