Patricia's Story

I got married right after graduation and moved to San Diego since my husband was in the military at that time. I went to school to become a Medical Administrative Assistant and worked in the field for 30 years before becoming an Instructor at a Medical College here in Chula Vista, CA. and have been teaching for 14 years. I teach the medical assistants all the front office skills to work in a medical office. I had two children, my daughter age 32, is a Pharmacy Technician and my son was killed in a tragic accident at age 24 while attending school in Phoenix, Arizona. My days are filled with working two shifts a day and taking care of cooking, cleaning my house and taking care of my daughter when she will allow me to since she is very independent. She was diagnosed with heart problems a month after my son passed away. She also attends school for her associates degree. I'm very proud of her accomplishments. My greatest accomplishments in life are my children and the joy they have brought to my life. Everything else is secondary. I wish everyone the best that life has to offer and I do remember my high school years...Expand for more
with fond memories. It is now 2017, where has the time gone? I'm still teaching at the medical school. I'm there 17 years and don't plan on retiring just yet. My daughter got married and lives an hour and a half away so I miss her. She's still a pharmacy technician working for an insurance company in Long Beach. I hope everyone is doing well and happy with their life. Best wishes for the new year. 2019, I have been married 50 years and I'm still teaching at the Medical College almost 20 years. I wish my children were still young so I could keep them close to me. It's been 11 years since my son passed away and I miss him so much. He was such a loving, hard working guy and always showed his love for family and friends. I'm still sharing sunset with him in my mind just like we use to watch them every night starting when he was seven years old. Everyone should enjoy and appreciate their loved ones while you have them with you, you never know how much time you have left with them, so let them know how important they are . I'm so grateful for the 24 years I had with my son and he knew how much I love him.
