Patrick's Story
Not much to say. Spent time at I.I.T. and dropped out my last semester to join the Air Force as an enlisted man. Learned to repair Navigation Equipment for aircraft. Spent time as an Instructor at Keesler AFB, MS. Was in Thailand twice, 1972-73 (last major bombing over North Viet Nam and the Paris Peace Talks) and again in 1975 (fall of Saigon). Several other bases including Mather AFB where they conducted all the basic navigator training and introduced the T-43 ( a modified Boeing 737) as the aircraft those navigators trained on. e a tenured instructor at Triton College in River Grove for Electronics Engineering Technology. Joined AM-Bruning later to be bought by Oce USA (and now a part of Canon) as a senior technical trainer for large format B/W copiers, plotters and printers (36" wide by 50 'long output). Managed a Geek Squad for Best Buy and later repaired and recalibrated infusion pumps for Baxter until the line was discontinued. Along the way completed my BS in Electronics Engineering and earned a MEd as well. Just couldn't keep a job in one area. As President Eisenhower called it "... the military, academic, and industry complex ...".
