Patrick's Story
I've been lucky. Married once, well and still. Employed once, well and still. Ten kids, fourteen grandchildren (so far), lots of friends and (usually) a home full of refugees -- it is a lively household. I enjoy my teaching (Bioethics, Environmental Ethics & Policy, AIDS, Philosophy of Science), my research (same fields) and my writing (ditto).
I do a lot of travelling now, to lecture in places like Kenya, Poland, India, Lithuania, Austria ... and enjoy the people and the places. I really love central and eastern Europe -- if you have never been, and have the chance: Go.

I'm still a bit reserved and "socially challenged", but my wife, a smart and beautiful ESL teacher who resettles refugees in her spare time, more than compensates. She would probably say that she has dragged me into most of the things I enjoy, and she would be substantially right.
After three high schools in three different states in 1.5 years, K-M was a really wonderful place for me. Or more accurately, K-M-ers were really wonderful people to me. I was lucky to land there. The faculty was great. But most of all, my classmates made me feel welcome. I'm still thankful.
