Patsy's Story

Life Whoever thought life would be this busy at this age? I have been blessed. I did everything I wanted to do before I married. I love Beth Moore Bible studies and lead a women's Bible study at our church. I also enjoy working with the youth in my church. Iwas able to go on my second international mission trip this year and I hope it will not be my last. I am blessed by my family. My husband is Don and works for BMW. I have a 19 year old daughter who is an angel and is in her second year of college. She recently became engaged to a wonderful guy but the marriage may take her to Portugal. Yikes! I also have a 16 year old son who loves to play sports and I try to deal with the smells that are created by all that sweat! He is a starting offensive lineman and a great player I also have a pug name Sam who trains me instead of me training him. Go figure. I retired early. I had an interesting career history. I worked as a nurse, a flight attendant, Utilization Management Coordinator for a state health care agency and was lucky enough to serve on senate sub-committee hearing on health care regulation during the Clinton Administration (I am a staunch REPUBLICAN) and helped write legislation regarding regulation of health care information. I try now to help others in obtaining educational services for their children who are identified as educationally disabled. School Mrs. Sell was my best teacher and also the one I learned the most from. I danced my way in college whenever I was in an english course or had to take something that required alot of writing. Would I do high school all over again? No way! Teenage angst and Greek...Expand for more
mythology I can do without. I did love the social scene. College I actually went to nursing school before I went to Western. I wish I could go back and change some things. What was great: the Greek system at Western. The fraternities and sororities were fun. The atmosphere of going to a mid-size university which was stuck in a region where low-cost activities were plentiful. The instructors were also great. What I would change: I partied way too much and being obnoxious in 1983 was not a virtue. You could get by with it today but not then. Sorry guys. However, through it all, I ended up earning a good living on what I learned but wished I could tell some people I am sorry. Drew, if you ever read this, please forgive me. I have Meniere's Disease if any of you are familar with that. Lots of vertigo, ringing in the ears, fullness and pressure in the ears as well as migraines. It is bilateral and I have had several surgeries to try to correct it with no success. I am currently deaf in one ear which sounds bad but it can have its advantages sometimes. My dear husband snores like a grizzly bear. Undoubtly it runs in my family and I got the lucky gene. I am the contact person for the Ear Foundation for information regarding this disease in my territoroy of SC. It is mainly a support and information network. It won't kill me but sometimes it makes you want to leave the world a little early. Prayer get me through when I have attacks and then I am back on my happy way. If you haven't listened to Family Force 5, try it. It will get you going. Leeland, Dave Crowder, Skillet, and Chris Tomlin aren't so bad either.
