Patti's Story
Life
I currently live about 25 miles south of Washington, DC with my husband and 5 year old son. My husband and I are also in the process of adopting a baby girl from China. We are hoping to get our referral early next year and bring our daughter home in March or April of 2007. Three years ago, I left a full time management position in the software industry to launch my own cake design business and to be a Stay at home Mom. Business is booming and I am enjoying being home with my son , who just finished preschool and is headed to Kindergarten in the fall. I am also about to embark on another adventure. I am finishing up another Master's Degree..this one in Education and plan on teaching Elementary School when I am done.
School
Had a blast at the reunion last summer...hard to believe 20 years (yikes!) has already gone by. Good to see most people there..many had not changed a bit since graduation. Looking forward to the next one.
College

in touch over the years with quite a few friends from my VCU days (mostly sorority sisters). I manage to make it down to Richmond a few times a year. Wish I could do it more..I MISS Richmond. Favorite memories of VCU days..hanging out in the Commons, little corner bars in the Fan, Friday Cheers and Innsbook,the ASA House, Greek Week & walking to 7-11 at 3am with the munchies, hannging out on the front porch with the PiKaps (especially Mike & Marshall!!)..oh, and Michelle's car with the moon roof & the Bingo Hall!!!
I have actually found a few college friends through Classmates too!
Workplace
I started my own business PattiCakes a few years ago, and last year left the corporate world behind to focus on building this business. So far, things are booming. My primary business i wedding cakes, but I do cakes for all occasions- birthday, showers, retirements, promotions, etc. Check out my website, and if you are in the metro Washington, DC area, give me a call if you need a cake!
