Patti's Story
Life
After graduating from Bonita in 1972 I moved to the San Francisco area and worked in the city until 1973, as a life insurance typist. At the end of Sept. 73, I went to Vienna, Austria (to visit Steve) as some of you may remember I had been dating. After being there a few days, I became bored and started looking for a job and found one. I worked at IIASA from 1973-1976. Steve and I brokeup in Dec. 73, but I decided to stay and live there for 2 more years, and in 1974 I met my ex-husband, Gordy. In 1976 we returned to the states and were married Nov. 76. We lived in Pomona for a couple years and then moved to Livermore, CA in Mar. 79. In Oct. 79, our first son was born. In Feb. 82, our second son was born. acres until 2000, when we were divorced. In 2002, I moved to Louisville, KY. In 2003 I was remarried to a friend (Bill) on our 50th birthday. I'd met Bill in Vienna some 26 years earlier (also a Marine) ...what a small world! After all those years of no contact, we were reacquainted on the internet through a mutual friend here in Louisville. I now have 2 more daughters ages 15 and 20 that also live in KY. My jobs over the years have included: technical typist, daycare provider, at-home-mother (the most rewarding of all), a waitress for over 14 years (loved it), and a framer/manager at a Michael's store. I am now employed part-time at a Hallmark store and part-time retired. We just recently moved (1 mile) to a little larger house with a basement. It's a lot of work, but it's fun to fix it up the way you want it.
