Patty's Story
In 1980 I graduated from Northwood Institute (University) in Midland, MI with a degree in advertising. Got a job immediately after Northwood as a reporter/writer for Automotive Magazine in Detroit- go figure???
1982 married a Groves/U of M grad., Fred Kostedt - Fred's an EE currently working contract at Volvo technologies.
I left Automotive news in 1983 when daughter Liz (25) was born and became a stay at home mom.
In 1984 we moved down to Greensboro, NC.
In 1987 our second daughter Allison (21) came along three months premature (she's doing great) then in
1989 our baby Sarah (19) was born.
My dad (Dick Hoffman) took an early retirement in 1988 from WJR radio and he and my mom (Beth Hoffman)moved down to Greens...Expand for more
boro from Birmingham and live about 10 minutes from us.
Then in 2005 my brother Jim Hoffman and his family moved BACK to Greensboro for the third time. They now live right up the street from us.
After teaching pre-school for four years and having a mid life crisis in my late-thirties, I began training and getting certifications in several areas of the exercise field. By 2001 I started my own business - Personal Best by Patty.
I've been working as a group fitness instructor (Specializing in Mat and Reformer Pilates) and as a personal trainer for eight years now.
I've been enjoying all the pictures posted from the reunion. I hated I had to miss it - so thanks for sharing those.
