Holding out for retirement. Will I make it to 65?! Trying to. Will I stay in Juneau? Will I move to Vancouver to be close to daughter Lacee and grandson Lucas (and let's not forget my ex Marcus!) or stay in Juneau to be with my sister Pam (and her family) and daughter Emilee and her family? (My son Hunter moved; however, he is still close.) No snakes or ticks in Juneau. Now that might not be a consideration for many of you, but for me, it ...Expand for more
is. On the other hand... my left hand, little finger, first knuckle is now swollen to twice it's original dainty little self from arthritis. Blasted stuff. My hands hurt off and on with shocks of electricity that zap me at the craziest moments. Would moving to a warmer climate stop all of that? Maybe. But, would the snakes and ticks endanger my darling Claire? And how about heartworms? I'm thinking it would be best if I stayed here for now. But who knows what I will think tomorrow?
7.27.2011 - Went to visit darling Lacee and Lucas. Even had my eyebrows tattooed back on! It is too blasted hot in Vancouver Washington for this Alaskan girl.
Keep wondering what will I do when I grow up. I really thought I would be all settled and rocking in my rocking chair (which would be located on my front porch) by now; however, the 'Ok. NOW I am old' feeling hasn't hit me yet and rocking chairs make me seasick. But then, how many people in Juneau actually have a front porch on which one could safely leave a rocking chair? If it's wood, it will get wet and start growing mold. If it's plastic, it will get wet, and well, start growing mold. Good heavens. Two days of rain and all I can talk about is moldy rocking chairs.".
