Patty's Story
My husband Ben and I live in Jefferson City right now. Ben is the executive director for Missouri NEA and loves what he does. I'm retired from teaching in the Independence School District after 28 1/2 years of teaching at Truman High and Bridger Jr. High Schools. It was a great career and I do miss the kids and my colleagues, but not the papers or the meetings. Ben's son Scott and his wife Patti have one son Grant and are waiting on news of another adoption from Russia. Grant is truly our "...Expand for more
From Russia with Love" grandson. Our daughter Sarah is a teacher in Independence at Nowlin Middle School and really enjoys her kids and teaching world history. Something about the Middle Ages intrigues her. She bought her first home down in Hyde Park this past year and is now truly an independent woman.
I keep busy with quilting, reading, family and trying to stay healthy. My mom passed away three years ago but my dad still lives on Pleasant in Independence. It's nice to be able to go home.
