In 1967, I graduated with a B.S. in Zoology and a commission as a second lieutenant in the U. S. Army.
After completing my officers branch training, I attended airborne training, Fort Benning, and then the Special Forces Officers Qualification Course, Fort Bragg.
Upon completion of the S.F. 'Q' course, I was assigned to the 6th Special Forces Group (Abn) for 3 months before being deployed to the Republic of Viet Nam.
My first assignment was as a platoon leader with the 3rd Battalion, 503 PIR, 173rd Airborne Infantry Brigade. Later, I served as an adviser to the Vietnamese with 5th Special Forces Group.

I took a 'temporary' position as a biology teacher at Riverside Junior H.S. (that's right, the same). I remained at Riverside for 29 years, retiring as the Department Coordinator in 1999.
I did attend graduate school (1975-76) at Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Florida, receiving a M.S. in Biological Oceanography.
After retiring from East Providence School Department, I took a position in the Biology Department, University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth, teaching the biology for non-majors courses. I remained at UMass - Dartmouth for 11 years before retiring (again).
I also taught courses in marine biology at Barrington College from 1975 to 1985.
My wife, Betty Cameron (Class of 64) and I now reside in Florida. We have 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren.
Betty and I are now living in Viera, Florida.
