My story. I left Glendale, Calif. for Boise, Idaho on November 22, l971. My friend Roger Johnston was living up there, so that's what took me there plus a new adventure. I was an apprentice carpenter when I left and I continued the trade for 20 so years. Work got slow and a friend from church, who was the warden for Idaho State Prison asked if I would become a Correction Officer. And so the last 20+ I have been working as a Correctional Officer. I loved doing the work. Challenging every day, no two day are alike. It's not like you see in the movies, but if you watch the history channel on prisons, then you see the full picture.
