PAUL's Story
Life
After High School I went to Europe for 2 months touring England, Germany, Vienna, Italy, France and Hungary where I stayed in the birthplace of my Father, Budapest. There my Great-Grandfather was the President of the Hungarian National Bank, imagine having your name on the front of another nation currency. I lived for 2 weeks on an Almond farm, that had no electricity, in the small town of Montelimar in the south of France. Thats when I found out that the simple things in life really do matter.
When I returned it was on CCC to become an Honor Graduate (no, really an Honor Graduate) and move over to Hayward State to continue my studies towards my Bachelors degree. Then I met the future Mrs. Elischer through an old freind form El Cerrito (Sandee Dennis) and was married on June 23, 1985. Some of you might have been there, we had over 400 people in attendance for the celebration. As I did nothing notable academically during my tenure at Kennedy High School at least I could be remembered for organizing improptu gatherings with people from all the different Kennedy Malls in attendance. (Point Isabelle, the Plateau, Grizzly Peak, Caynon Trail Park and my house) I still have pictures that you might not want you kids to see, I know I don't want mine to see them.
I started working as a construction foreman and living in El Cerrito o...Expand for more
n Kent Drive where I grew up as a boy (dad's house / cheap rent). Then in 1988 I purchased the rights to that company and started Elischer Construction, Inc. I employed several Kennedy Alumni over the years including Anthony Ante, Ray Word, Chris Petersen, Doug Meredith and George Allen. What was I thinking? (just kidding guys) My wife and I bought our first house in Moss Beach near Half Moon Bay where I could walk to the ocean with my surf board from the house. By that time we had 2 children and were suprised with another one on the way so we decided to move back to Pinole where we could be close to family and friends (free babysitters).
My daughter Megan atended Miramonte High School in Orinda and played on the Varsity Softball team as a freshman she's since graduated from USC and made me a grandfather. My son Victor is an avid golfer, a 2 time All-Star in both the Minor and Major Divisions of Little League and started as a freshman on the Varsity Baseball team at Pinole Valley High where I was the coach (I know a Spartan, yuck!) . My daughter Natalie (the suprise baby) is the belle of the ball and benefits from both her siblings so much that so that Dad had absolutely no chance in the household. Their mother and I divorced last year after 35 years and remain dedicated to our kids.
