PERSONAL
Growing up in a large family, where we all attended ELHS, my name was often recognized before I walked in the room. I thought EL was a wonderful place to grow up and I have many good memories of the area.
With the help of Coach Jeff Smith, I decided to play football at U of M, and some MSU faithful thought of me as a traitor. When football didn't pan out I joined the golf team. Betsy Stover and I continued dating there. When I graduated, I went in to the film production business, and I'm still at it.
After 4 years of work in Birmingham and Detroit, I moved to Chicago in '80 to join Betsy and to flee the struggling SE Michigan economy. Two years later Betsy and I were married in Charlevoix. Two weeks later she died of a brain tumor. The Fagan & Stover formed the Betsy Stover-Fagan Memorial fund in her honor. Since 1983 we've been awarding ELHS scholarships and raising money at The Boo Boo Memorial Golf Tourney and Cookout at Belvedere GC in Charlevoix.
I continued to live in Chicago until 2002, when I married Cecilia Sheehan of Ann Arbor in a fireside ceremony on New Years Eve in Harbor Springs. She is a Connecticut girl who came to U of M on a swimming scholarship and earned 4 varsity letters (I earned none in 2 sports). She is a Physician Assistant at the U of M Emergency Department. We have 2 fantastic kids, Jack (5) and Brook (2).
