Paul's Story

I began teaching accounting at a college level in 1971 while working on my MBA at DePaul University in Chicago. I lived in the Minneapolis area from 1973 to early 1979. in 1981, I received my PhD from the University of Minnesota. After living in northern California (San Jose area) for almost 20 years, my wife and I moved to Sedona, Arizona in December of 1996. During the period 1997 to 2003, I wrote two texts, one as the sole author of a financial accounting textbook for McGraw-Hill. Eventually, I missed full-time college teaching and moved to western Massachusetts in July of 2006. We now live in Bloomfield, Connecticut and I am an Associate Professor of Accounting at Central Connecticut State UniversityPath College, in New Britain, CT. Since 1971, I have taught in every year but four (1997 - 2000). Assuming good health, I expect to continue teaching for at least five more years. July of 2012. New Flash: The Class of 1966 will hold our 50th reunion in Aberdeen in June of 2016. Since I will be assisting in these events, please update me in such a way as to allow us to keep you informed of those plans. If you are from the Class of 1965, send me your information and I will make sure it is sent to the proper person in charge of your 50th reunion. Some Things Never Change! The Orpheum Theater still lives on in my personal habits. How so? I still see an unusual number of movies at movie theaters and my own home theater has a 164 inch screen, leather reclining seats with cup holders, a very large popcorn machine and a specially designed candy case. As a result, I still eat an obscene amount of popcorn that is my drug of choice. The Roads Not Traveled. I could have been very happy being a sports columnist (remember Larry Desautels?) or a theater owner and manager (like my Dad), or a counseling psychologist (specializing in primal therapy for those classmates traumatized by their experiences with Cletus Noecker!)
