Paul's Story
Life
Hello Everyone,
After High School, I went to the UW, and graduated in 1976. I got married later that year to Judy Seckel of Federal Way. I went to USAF pilot training the next year. I flew C-141's (a jet cargo plane)for a couple years, then instructed in T-38's ( a small supersonic trainier)for about 4 years. I left the active duty Air Force in 1984, but stayed in the Reserves.
I was hired by Eastern Airlines in 1984. In 1989, the employees went on strike, and soon thereafter the company shutdown. For the next four years I was essentially unemployed except for the Reserves. I was a reserve "bum". For a summer, I worked in Alaska for Arco Oil Company flying between Anchorage and the North Slope, landing on gravel runways in a Boeing 727. For almost a year I worked for World Airways. The most memorable time was flying the "Hadj". We flew religious pilgrims from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia to Jeddah Saudia Arabia.(Very Interesting but not a lot of fun). I was furloughed in 1993.

nes in late 1994, and still work there. I have flown 727's, 737's, 757's, 767's and am currently flying 777's. I am based in Seattle.
I had stayed in the Air Force Reserve, and flew C-141's first out of California then McChord, near Tacoma. In the early 90's, I flew a lot of missions in support of Desert Shield and Desert Storm. I also flew humanitarian missions to Somalia and Rwanda. I retired from the Air Force Reserve in June 2001. During my Air Force carreer, I had flown to 46 nations.
I am still married to Judy. We live east of Auburn. We had two kids. Our oldest graduated from the UW, is married and works for T-Mobile in Bellvue. He recently had a son. Our daughter is a junior at Western Wash. Univ. She is 20.
Partly because my airline carreer hasn't worked out that well, Judy and I pruchased some forest property near Eatonville a couple years ago. We are trying to operate a tree farm. It hasn't made any money but is a good time and a great stress reliever.
I hope that hasn't been too boring.
