Paul's Story
It's been a great journey so far. Went to Western Washington University after Wilson eventually (wasn't exactly on the 4-year plan) graduating with a double major in Parks & Recreation and Environmental Science. Have worked for the National Park Service for over 30 years, started as a summer seasonal in college and went full-time shortly thereafter. Have lived in wonderful places throughout the western U.S.: Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, New Mexico, and for the past 12 years in Moab, Utah where I am the Assistant Superintendent for Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.

Eligible for full retirement in less tha two years - I like that feeling. Don't know if I'll actually pull the plug but it will be nice to know that I can.
Bought a 14-acre mini-farm outside of Medford, Oregon a few years ago (the first time the stock market tanked) - don't know if we'll actually retire there but it's certainly an option.
I don't get to Tacoma much, in fact it's been years and years. My dad died over 20 years ago and my mom moved to Olympia so I just don't seem to get up that way much. Still love the northwest though and imagine we'll end up there for at least part of each year after retirement.
