Paul's Story
Hmmm... What have I done since High School... I enlisted in the US Air Force (National Guard) in Nevada. I also went to work for the Nevada Highway Patrol. I got married and had three awesome kids but then ended up divorced. (That's quite a story as well.) I have attended college at virtually every college across Northern Nevada but still haven't finished my degree. (Maybe someday.)
My kids names are Anthony (18), Branden (17), and Angelina (15). Anthony jis also in the Nevada Guard and is going to UNR studying Civil Engineering. Branden is a Senior at Reed High School, and Angelina is a Junior at Excel Christian School also in Sparks.
I spent 20 years patrolling the highways in Northern Nevada and then retired. During my tenure with the NHP, I worked as a Commercial Officer, Traffic Trooper, Traffic Sergeant, Training Officer, Training Academy Commander, Reno Traffic Operations Lieutenant, and NHP Executive Officer in State HQ. I served in Reno/Sparks, Winnemucca, Lovelock and Carson City.
After retiring from the NHP, I took a "Retirement Job" as a Federal Officer but left there to take a "Civilian" position with the military in the Inspector General's office.
I am still in the Military and have nearly 27 ...Expand for more
years of service. I have been mobilized for the first gulf war, as well as post 9/11 operations. I have been deployed to Qatar, Afghanistan, Honduras, New Zealand, Antarctica and Kyrgyzstan.
I am happily re-married to an awesome woman. She has 4 kids of her own, plus one adopted, and then one that adopted her, so together we have 9 kids! (All but my youngest is over 18). My wife's name is Trina, she is a UNR Alumni, having worked in mental health, drug and alcohol counseling as well as a administrative specialist with the Nevada Highway Patrol. Trina now owns her own business in Sparks at Charlie's right across from Reed High where she is a nail technician.
I am now an avid car collector, but I have too many to list here. Everything is in various stages of restoration, but nothing fancy enough to brag about. I am hopeful that someday my retirement job will be restoring my old cars... Now my kids are also into the collecting and I am currently working on a 1956 Chevy Pick-up with my oldest Son Anthony.
You can reach me if you understand to send to "nhp3145retired" where the e-mail sounds like "wahoo"... Only with a "Y"...
Keep in touch! I would love to hear about all that my classmates have been involved in...
