Paul's Story
After graduating from Quincy College, I was prepared to teach high school math but instead went to work for the Internal Revenue Service. On January 3, 2013, I retired from the IRS.
In 1984, I married the love of my life, Beverly Ann Balaszek (Hegewisch). We lived 3 years in Lansing, IL, 2 years in Norcross Georgia and settled in New Lenox, IL in 1990 where I presently live with our two children Eric, 23, senior Eastern IL and Melissa, 20, junior at Eastern IL with Eric. Bev lost her 5 1/2 year battle with breast cancer 10/19/2007. She was 50 year...Expand for more
s old.
Eric plays on the Lambda Chi basketball team. Both are honors students. Bev was better at parenting, I'm still learning. I am in good health according to the family doctor. Work and my children are my life for now.
I learned from Bev that the most important things in life are faith, family and friends. I am a practicing Catholic. I remain close with my in-laws and brothers. My brother Jim passed away 2/26/08 from chronic illnesses). My father passed away 8/8/09 from prostate cancer, age 91.
I enjoyed the 40th reunion. Nice turnout.
