Paul's Story
Life
Greetings,
After graduating MUHS in 71, I went to Moorpark College then moved to Santa Barbara for a couple years.
I became a fireman for Kern County in 74 and moved to Bakersfield, what a culture change. In ÃÂ82, while still a fire engineer, I moved to North Fork near Bass Lake, and met my wife, Gaynelle. She teaches at the local elementary school. In 83 we married and in 88 had our only daughter who is now 22. Boy does time fly!! I was injured on the job in 89, ruptured a disc in my neck, and retired in 1990 leading to a new career in electronics. Luckily I keep up on everything. In 1990 I went to work for Pacific Gas and Electric Co as a communications technician. After 3 years on the road, my area was Bakersfield to Sacramento, my daughter didnÃÂt know who I was so I quit, wanting to start my own business. From 93-2005 I owned a contracting business installing cabling, radio, microwave, fiber-optic, telephone exchanges, solar, etc for school districts in the central valley and for government offices and public utilities. s started to slow down in 04, so I let the guys go and ran it myself for a year. In Jan of 05 Ponderosa Telephone approached me to come to work for them as an engineer and I've been with them since.
IÃÂm still into amateur radio, computers, camping, packing with horses and mules in the high country, horseback riding (we own 2 now, had 5 a couple years back). My daughter showed AQHA horse shows statewide for 3 years so once a month we were off to various locations. She was at the trainer 3 days a week, which made for a tight schedule. I really loved it and started showing in the reigning class. This is where the horse does perfect patterns, slide stops etc.
Now life is just enjoying trail riding, packing, and having them in the pasture at home. God has been very good to us and blessed us with a nice home in a fabulous location, wonderful family and great friends.
I would love to hear from any of the old gang or any others I knew during my 19 years in Moorpark.
God Bless, Keep Well, and Keep your eyes on the horizon and just enjoy the ride..
