I am a professional musician/instructor, I teach at the Community Conservatory of Doylestown, at Proline in Fairless Hills, The Bucks County Juvinile Detention Center in Doylestown and at Music And Arts in Horsham. I taught at George School for 8 years and at the House Of Guitar for 17 years. I play guitar mainly but also drums, bass, banjo, piano, harmonica and I sing, I am A prog head DREAM THEATER etc. I also love bluegrass, SCOTSVILLE SQUIRREL BARKERS! Other than that I love fishin, the mountains, hiking, etc Here's my bio: 40 year old Paul Lingerman has been playing guitar for over 20 years and has a bachelors degree from the University Of The Arts in Philadelphia Pa. Although his degree is in jazz he is also well versed in other styles such as; rock/classic rock, funk, metal, shred, progressive rock/metal, fusion and classical, All of these influences give Paul's original music a unique and eclectic sound. One of his solo albums is named after a word he invented "Heavyfunkjazz" which is a fusion of hard rock, jazz, and funk. While some of the songs have serious and meaningful lyrical content, some of the other song lyrics tend to be on the silly side similar to something that Frank Zappa may have done. gs Are Afraid Of Vacuums was number 2 in the world right under Tom Green's Bum Bum Song in the comedy genre on mp3.com and his song Notte Di Miseria won best mood song just to name a couple. Paul has five solo albums in which he plays all of the instruments and sings, they're called "Welcome To My Mind", (experimental jazz) "Heavyfunkjazz", (jazz metal funk fusion) "Paul Lingerman Acoustic", "Pennsylvania Shredbilly" (Southern Shredding Mix) and the newly released "Of Doom And Hope", (a concept album about life, death, the afterlife and the struggles involved, it's Paul's heaviest music yet!) These cd's have gotten some acclaim and radio play around the world via mp3.com and word of mouth. Several of his songs were placed on over 100 mp3.com stations! Some of Paul's music has also been included on independant films and compilation cd's such as Ninja Paparazzi by Jae Chon, Dr. Dawn's American Spirit Summit, KAM music cd, his former band Metox was featured on Chain Reaction 2 and 3, and Paul plays on the newly released Prophecies Of War dvd which will be in stores for purchase in October 2008 and is getting tons of international exposure due to it being on tv. Paul has also been in several bands since 1992 that have done very well selling thousands of cd's locally and getting some airplay worldwide. Paul has played hundreds of gigs in venues ranging from small art galleries to the Trocadero and Electric Factory in Philly and The Wave and the China Club in NY opening for artists such as Dee Snider's Widowmaker, Yngwie Malmsteen, Tommy Conwell and Michelle Branch. Recently, Paul and David Balcher did a modern rendition of the civil war era song "Hell On Wabash" for the release "Drexel University Presents The Civil War As It Came To Philadelphia." The cd is getting a good amount of press and is being sold in stores. As of today Paul is busy marketing his CD's, teaching guitar, bass, piano and banjo, and playing with The Epoch Jazz Trio and The Mantell Conspiracy! Check out my youtubes!
