not sure what to say. just curious. student at wjh from 1967 to 1969. i have more personal memories and adventures while a student at wjh than any other school i attended. i was in a foster home at the time and before i graduated from wjh i was placed in another home in long beach, then later another in bakersfield where i attended highland high for a short time. by the time i was 15 i ran away and didn't stop until i was in ketchikan, alaska where i worked in commercial fishing and logging...came back to california years later as an adult and finished high school when i was 23 then went on to community college...later u.c. davis. i now live in fremont, california...in the so called silicon valley just north of san jose. i'm a professional in the construction industry working in the past as a project superintendent/manager and now run my own company building custom homes and remodels for individual clients. i have no children and only recently m...Expand for more
arried (3 yrs). i like the s.f. bay area but often miss southern california...especially in the winter. while at wjh i was very active in track and did well in competition...one of my friends i remember from them days was guido (spelling?) mata. another was danny massey who lived a few houses down from me before my foster family moved...that must have been 1967 or 68. i hope life has been kind to both of you. i also had a crush on a beautiful girl named ema whom i met in 6th grade at gulf ave elementary before we both transferred to wjh...for the life of me i don't know or can't remember her last name. i can only remember speaking to her twice, in as many years, and then only to stumble over one or two sentences like an idiot before i excused myself and fled. i never dated in wjh ...or ever thought of any other girl. i'm laughing to myself here as i am remembering it. i hope life has been kind to you, too, ema...even more, i hope it has been generous.
