Paul's Story
After graduating from YV I attended DVC for 2 years and then tranferred to the University of Oklahoma. I moved to Dallas,TX in August 1981, where I began my career in Human Resources with Sentry Insurance.
In Austin 1983 I moved to to Round Rock, TX which is just outside of Austin. Around 1995 I found my way back to one of my high school passions - music! I joined a local community choir, which lead me to signing gospel music with 4 close friends. While I no longer sing in either of those groups, I still enjoy singing in our church choir. In March 1999, after 17 1/2 years with Sentry Insurance, I was asked to relocate back to Dallas or pursue other opportunities, I opted for the later. August 1999. Following a major restricting of our HR department in 2011, I accepted a short term assignment in NH. Returning to my Texas home in July 2013.
Along the way my son Aaron, one of the greatest joys of my life, was born in 1985. Following my return in Texas I started another life journey when I married Geri Castanon..
In March 2018 I retired from my life in Human Resources and went to work for a close friend and owner of Spicewood Vineyards, about 30 outside of Austin. Spending time working in the vineyard, pouring wine in the tasting room, working events, and just enjoying life.
As I look back over the past 45 years, there are several things I wish I could do over. One of my regrets is never making it back to California for any of our class reunions and reconnecting with old friends.
