Paul's Story
After high school I attended the University of Minnesota, studying pre-med and earning a BA in '64 with a double major: philosophy and psychology. I attended medical school at U of M for a year, and dropped out to enter graduate school in philosophy. I earned my PhD in philosophy in '72 (my dissertation was on Freud's explanation of dreams). I taught philosophy at the University of Michigan-Flint from '69 to '06. I'm now retired, but teach part time at UMFlint.
I have two daughters from my first marriage. Sarah is in a PhD program in French at the University of North Carolina...Expand for more
, and lives in Greensboro. Amy is a writer and teaches writing in Baltimore. I am remarried to Linda, and have two step sons, Grant and Cort.
I live in a geodesic dome house in Pinckney, Michigan - near Ann Arbor. Linda and I enjoy traveling and are developing an interest in photography. We recently had opportunity to combine these interests by spending a summer in Italy (Sorrento) as part of a photography course.
My brother, Mark (Central '62), is a lawyer and lives in Los Angeles.
My trips to MPLS have become infrequent, but I will try to make the reunion September 2010.
