Paul's Story
Life
I enlisted in the Air Force at 17 and became an Air Policeman (I wanted to be a medic). I've had 2 years of college ( pre med) and had a lot of jobs and learnd a lot of things. But, right now, I'm a Shaklee Independant Distributor with my new wife. Not much of a bio you say? Well, gee wiz! What do you want on the spur of the moment.
School
My best high school experience was chess club. Also, early morning Seminary at our new church building. I really liked Mr House, Mr Townsend, Miss Layton, Miss Harmon, and two whose names I don't remember( math & english). I sure wish I had dated more and taken part of other activities, but I wasn't well liked by the girls, so I never went to dances. Wasn't too good at sports either so.... I was in the Civil Air Patrol when I was in school. I guess that was the main reason I went in the Air Force. Sure wish I had stayed home so I could have gotten to know Joanne.
College
I really began my college experience in 1968 as a part time student. I left my job at White Sands Missile Range and changed to full time status in 1969 as a pre-med student. Only had 2 years (loved the labs) and experienced a small(to anyone else)victory in a math class (in Weir Hall)with matrices. I helped bring Tri Beta to the campus but was not allowed to join because I was too stupid;grades, you know. I was all alone when I lived in Socorro and I didn't have a home except Fitch Hall so I was obliged to attend school year round so I'd have a place to live. I helped put on a play while I was there(did the lights in the control booth) and went to the Christmas dance in'70(Tri Beta did the refreshment booth). The dance theme was NAVIDAD EN LOS MINAS. I went to the stage twice to request of the band slow dances so I could dance with Coralee Brierly and look at her chest. You see, she was wearing a LOW cut dress and , according to a female s...Expand for more
tudent in one of my classes "was about to choke". I left school in the Summer of '71. Surely was fond of Coralee.
Workplace
I sold frozen food for Bonanza Foods in Albuquerque when I left the Air Force in 1966. My next job was at Stallion Site on the White Sands Missile Range. I was living in Socorro and worked for Land-Air in the Optics Department. I became a part time student at the Tech in 1968 and went full time (thanks to the GI Bill) in 1969 as a pre-med student;lived in South Hall for the first semester, than was given a room by myself in Fitch Hall Top of the stairs). A grade school teacher I was going with got a teaching position in West Virginia and soon discovered it not to her liking, so she went back home to Cincinnati Ohio.In the Summer of 1971 I left school to be with her after discovering that med school wasn't going to happen. I thought I'd get a job as a cook on a river barge on the Ohio River and marry Jan (the teach). Turned out I didn't do either. The best laid plans of mice and men aft gang wry (somehow I don't think I spelled that correctly;not being Scotch, you see).
Military
I was a SAC air policeman (Stragic Air Command for you commoners) and was assigned to the 6th Bomb Wing in 15th Air Force.Do I get any points for that? No? Aw-w-w well! Shuckey darn. If anyone who sees this bio was stationed at Walker AFB in the early to mid 60's, be advised (a little governmentese there) that in 1973 when my first wife and I were on our way to Mesa Arizona to get hitched, we changed to a small prop in Dallas-Fort worth and landed where to make a stop? Yes,there. Pulled right up to Base-Ops, we did. That's Roswell's airport now. I've always wondered what they used the "big hanger" for. You know, the hanger that held six B-52's? And the officers swimming pool just beyond CSC. I wonder. Well, anyhow, I'm 10-7 this 10-9. 10-4 on that?
