Paul's Story

Life Still working on it!! :) My life, that is. School During HS, I really didn't get out with the "crowd" so I didn't have any real "crushes" among school mates and schools like St. Mary's and St. Michael's or even Gardena High. I did like a young woman named Sharon who went to Gardena, had a crush on Jackie Sottile at St. Francis Cabrini, but eventually married my biggest crush, Cyntia Mussenden, who attended Henry Clay Jr. HS, and Washington High. The teacher that inspired me most was Mr. Mc Farland. If I could do it all over again, would I??? Yep...I only wish I could be wiser if I was to do it all over again. Have many good memories, can't single any out. Sure remember the trouble I caused in the class room!! LOL!!! Just a teen trying to discover his place in the world I was in...or thought I was in!!! :) College I attended El Camino Jr. College following graduation in 1965. I completed one year as an English Major in Literature. I enlisted in the Air Force in September of 1966 and took a number of schools in Electronics and Computer Technology both within and without the service structure. I returned to El Camino Community College in 1970 and took courses leading to an A.A. in Industrial Technology - Electronics. I then attended California State University, Long Beach and received a B.S. in Industrial Technology - Electronics in 1978. I was accepted into the MBA program at USC in 1978, but did not complete the course. Life was happening. Workplace Following military service, I was hired by Bendix Flight Systems as an Flight Test Engineering Aide on the development of the Flight Guidance System for the DC10. Be...Expand for more
ndix was headquarted in Michigan, and the division I worked in was in Teterboro, N.J. I worked as an Electronic Technician throughout the development, pre-production and production phases of that project at a facility in Long Beach, CA, near the LB Airport. Bendix merged with Allied Chemical to become Allied Bendix Aerospace, which shortly after merged with the Signal Companies to become Allied-Signal Aerospace headquartered out of Morristown, N.J. and Torrance, CA. I traveled the world over numerous times and remember fondly the associations and experiences of those trips. I left Allied-Signal in 1995, and, after about 1.5 years joined Long Beach Kinko's, Inc., an affiliate partnership of Kinko's, Inc. hq'd in Ventura, CA. I worked as a desktop publisher, Regional Computer Service Manager, and Technology Systems Analyst and Assistant Manager until 2003. I left Kinko's as it merged with Federal Express for personal reasons. I am now working with World Leadership Group, Global Equity Lending and Neighborhood Home Loans as a Loan Officer. I dabble in realty with American 5 Star Realty and enjoy financial services at this stage of my career. Military Served in the US Air Force, Strategic Air Command, 4017th Combat Crew Training Squadron (CCTS). Went to Lackland AFB, Texas, for Basic; Chanute AFB, Illinois, for Flight Simulator Specialist Training; was stationed at Castle AFB, Merced, CA. I toured the continental U.S. on TDY (Temporary Duty) as a Crew Chief of a Training squad training pilots and co-pilots for duty on the B52, KC135 refueler, F104, SR71, T38, F4 and a number of other aircraft. I left service in September of 1970 as a SSGT.
