Paul William's Story

Life Having been in both the entertainment and sports field for almost 38 years, I moved in early January 2002 to Northeastern Pennsylvania to be with a woman who had stolen my heart. Since being an only child, and having both of my parents passing away on me in less than a year of one another. I decided it was finally time for me to find love, and to be happy finally! In my professional career, from 1968-1970, I was honored to receive five Gold Records for sales of one million or more singles for "Simon Says", "Goody Goody Gumdrops","123 Red Light", "Special Delievery" and "Indian Giver". I was lucky to have the chance to appear on several major television shows, this during the weekends away from Carteret High and my limited appearances as a member of the Cross Country and Track Team while at CHS. Those television shows were Mike Douglas, Scene Seventy, Cousin Brucie Morrow Show and afew others! I was honored to have met Sonny Til, who had asked me to be co-manager of his group, Sonny Til & The Orioles. When Sonny passed away, Ricky Til, Sonny's oldest son,had asked me to stay with the group to keep his father's name as well memory alive. In 1995 Sonny Til & The Orioles, were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. And at the awards dinner, I accepted with great honor the induction award from "the godfather of soul", James Brown, himself. Alot has taken place in my life, the death of my parents in less than a year of one another. The death of my first girlfriend, from breast cancer which traveled from her beast to her brain. And then on the morning of September 11th, 2001, while walking the daughter of my new girlfriend to her school. I had learned of the sad news, that had touched everyone's heart and made me alone once again! Paula was killed, and her daughter and I cried and buried her with tears in our eyes and a hole in our hearts!!! In 2005, I have become apart of the management team which promotes the Harlem Road Kings, which i...Expand for more
s a comedy basketball team much like the Harlem Globetrotters who travel across the globe. So if any of you are out there, please make contact with me before I pass away!! College After my days at Carteret High, many years later I attended Pace University in New York City. During my first session, I had to leave school because my mom took very ill. I never went back, because the interest was never to do after losing my mother and then father to their illness. On September 11th, 2001, while working in her office at the World Trade Center I lost my girlfriend to some bad people who hate us Americans. I can only ask GOD, to watch over all of us as these same people make their way into our lifes in some way or another. I could never have trust nor respect, for those who have caused such a pain in not only my heart but in others! In November 2009, I decided to work hard on the building of a homeless shelter in memory of my late girlfriend. With the help of friends in the entertainment and sports field, I hope to see this dream become a reality in 2010...Finally doing something that brings me, alot of pride as well self respect. The hardest part for me to handle, knowing that this is done in memory of her, and that my life is not shared along side of her! Recently I moved back to New Jersey, so that I could be closer to my late girlfriend's younest daughter. I also want to be able to place red roses, on the grave of her mother (who I still love very much) . And to be close to Diane Caroline, whenever she needs me to talk..I'm not her natural father, but I've been there for her since her mother was killed during the attack in New York City at The World Trade Center. I thank God for my classmates, family members who just recently learned what I have been doing with my life. Someday I will get that homeless shelter, built in the memory of Caroline. And leave something behide, for others to learn the love that she had for our fellow mankind....
