Paul's Story
Life
I had my first job as a busboy at the Maple House Restaurant in the Northland Mall in '76. I was earning an unbelievable $2.20/hour ( I thought that was a lot of money ) which was minimum wage at the time. I can remember the pie fights we instigated after our manager had left for the nite.
I quit that job in '77 to work at Kinney Shoes in the same mall working for Tom Parks. He offered me $3.50/hour.
I attended Henry Ford HS from '75 to '78. I remember occasionally skipping class with a few of my friends to hang out at McDonald's on 8 Mile Rd near Lahser.
I graduated from Henry Ford in '78 and attended Wayne State University in Fall of '78 on a full scholarship. In fall of '81, I worked at IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY in the Co-op program. I returned to NY again in the summer of '82. At that time, IBM offered me a job. I graduated in '83 with a B.S degree in computer science.
On June 2, 1983, I moved to Poughke...Expand for more
epsie, NY to begin a career as a software developer for IBM. I still remember the details of that day. It was a beautiful sunny day, about 75 degrees and I was feeling very nervous. I had lived with my parents for 23 years and now I was moving out of state.
I was married in Sept. '85 and we had our first and only child in Feb. of '88. We were divorced in '93 and I moved back to Mi with my daughter in '94 to work for Perot Systems and marry my 2nd wife. Unfortunately, I was again divorced in '98. I raised my daughter on my own. She is now 20 years old, living on her own and has her own child, Jacob. That means I'm a grandfather!.
I got married for the 3rd time on 4/26/2006 and became a parent again, when our son Cooper Alexander was born on 3/9/2008.
My wife and I are very happy and having a child at the age of 47 will certainly keep me young. We live a very healthy lifestyle and plan on living to well past 100.
