Paul's Story
Life
I have been married 28 years, with one child whom we adopted from Guatemala in 1987. We have lived in Mobile, Alabama, and then in southern Indiana before returning to Michigan in 2003. I am finishing up a doctoral degree in Higher Education Leadership and am currently employed as the Academic Dean at the college where I did my undergraduate studies.
School
To be truthful, I have failed to keep in touch with my high school friends over the years. Therefore, most of my memories have faded with time. mber the football game against Reeths Puffer my senior year ... while both teams were undefeated, FHS won 50-0! Exciting times for someone who dreamed someday of being good at some sport!
Workplace
Since college I have had four jobs: (1) serving as an associate pastor in a small church north of Grand Rapids; (2) teaching/administering at a Christian school in Alabama for 6 1/2 years; (3) pastoring a church in Indiana for 12 1/2 years; and now as the Academic Dean at a Bible college in the Grand Rapids area. I love what I do, but miss the involvement of pastoral ministry. One of the main lessons I have learned over the years is to be content in whatever state I am (Philippians 4).
