Paula's Story
Actually, I moved to Bradenton when I was 16 and graduated from Manatee High. However, Sarasota will always be my home town. My classmates beginning in Bay Haven Elementary are the ones that I remember most fondly.
I earned a BA in Elementary Ed from Asbury University and taught 1st grade while my husband completed his degree at Auburn University. I then had a son and a daughter and did not want to put them in daycare, so I built a Pre-School in Winter Haven. After 20 years, I sold it and my husband and I moved to a tiny community in the mountains of North Carolina where we built Zoller Hardware Gifts and Gadgets Mercantile.
Our children both received masters degrees from Purdue University and met their spouses there. They have gifted us with 4 grandchildren (3 boys and 1 girl). Needless to say, we find every excuse to go visit th...Expand for more

We live on a 40 acre mountain top with 5000 frasier firs (we are growing Christmas trees for Floridians). Flower and vegetable gardening consume most of my after work hours. My husband spends his mowing.
We also have a condo in Bradenton that we get away to as often as we can. There we visit with family especially our daughter and grandsons. We swim, fish, eat stone crabs, blue crabs, grouper, shrimp and do all of the Florida things that we miss in the mountains.
My favorite hobby is designing and decorating homes. We have built and remodeled 5 homes and I have had a great time decorating my children's homes one room at a time. I'm really happy with a paint brush in my hand and a picture of what might be in my head.
God has blessed us with a wonderful life and we are very thankful.
