Paula's Story

Well, here goes... I think in high school to most, I seemed fairly shy though to those that knew me, they knew better. Perhaps I was a bit of a tomboy that loved music, played in the orchestra (violin) and loved a good football game. I still am a lot of that. I love the great out of doors, walking, biking, hiking, hopefully soon - kayaking (waiting for the sale on kayaks, lol) scooting around here and there, and loving all kinds of music still. I am still working as a nurse. I work in the Aurora Burlington Clinic in Burlington, Wisconsin. Working with an Internal Medicine/Geriatric Physician keeps me quite busy and should I say... sane? lol, I do love my job and the patients that we care for though. We (Darrel and I) do plan on moving back closer to home in the not too distant future. We are thinking perhaps the Columbus area due to work and such. (I have already begun looking through the masses of homes available in that area as time does seem to fly quite quickly.) I have two amazing children, though grown now themselves. Christopher, my oldest is married to a wonderful girl, Kelly Showalter. Christopher got his Masters degree in Electrical Engineering and currently working at ATK. Kelly is a Resident in Pediatrics through WVU and will finish this coming March 2010. Lisa, my daughter is married to a great guy, Daniel Acors. She has a Masters in Education and is currently working as a Math teacher at Williamstown High School. Daniel is taking some time away from his studies and working full time. He is working towards a degree in...Expand for more
Education as well through WVU-P. I have run the gamot of a thousand things happening in my life. I was married for almost 24yrs to Wayne Hollandsworth, a great man if I do say so myself. We parted ways quite a few years back though. I remarried through, tah dah... online dating since I wasn't into the bar scene nor were there any single men at the church where I belonged. I met Darrel through a mutual site on the web that we both were members of. He is in QA through Compuware. We have been married since October 20th, 2006. He has a great family that I adore. I have three stepchildren, Deanna, Jared, and Deidre. Deanna, tried college for a time and decided it wasn't her thing yet. smiles* Jared has enlisted into the Navy and will be going to bootcamp in March 2010. Deidre is a junior in high school so her path is not quite clear cut yet. Life has had its highs and lows for me. I thoroughly enjoyed growing up, lol... with my children. They are such a blessing. The lowest times were when I lost my mother, who had become my friend, to cancer. Then the passing of my grandmother and the decline of my father due to Alzheimers. Thankfully, I am a fairly resilant person. Through faith in God and with his help, I have made it through some rough times. I have enjoyed writing poetry and some of my poems can be viewed at poetry.com online. I hope to see everyone at the reunion next year. I have yet to attend one and will be quite literally quivering in my shoes with excitement to see you. Love, Paula Hollandsworth once known as Paula Marlow
