Paula Doty:  

Attended SoHo Intermediate, SoHo High School and Dobie. I currently live on our small (220 acre) cattle ranch about 30 minutes from College Station. I have lived here alone for one half of each month, creating and running the ranch for the last 11 years of my life. My passion is growing chemical free meats, vegetables and fruits. I love to propagate plants, travel the back roads taking pictures, creating healthy--good tasting---recipes that impact health. I am fascinated by the food/health connection and how since industrialization much of our food supply has become toxic, hurting our citizens. I also write poetry and short stories. I had a difficult time fitting in at school because of serious challenges at home. Even so, I remember some very nice people there. I had to leave home did not graduate. My son, who I was very close to, was coerced away from our family in June of 1998, one week after he graduated from one of our federal academies. It has broken our hearts. I have learned to accept it and cannot begin to imagine the wonderful man he must have grown into. One has to wonder why a son would sever ties to the family he treasured just as he graduated and was ready to move into his own world.
